On January 18, 2010, the Miami Dolphins signed a five-year deal with Sun Life Financial to rename Dolphin Stadium to Sun Life Stadium.

The stadium served as host for the second round of the 2009 World Baseball Classic, and hosted the 2010 Pro Bowl.
